When Nokia and Microsoft agreed to collaborate last year in February 
it was not sure which company was the other one's safety belt; truth is 
Nokia needed to regain a huge chunk of the market lost and Microsoft 
needed a strong hardware partner to build the buzz for Windows Phone.
After launching the first Windows Phones -- the Lumia 800 together 
with the Lumia 710 -- five months ago, Nokia is confident. "Our strategy
 is working. When we formed an alliance last year with Microsoft our 
intention was to regain lost share. After one year, it is still working.
 We are the number one Windows phone in volume in the world. Our 
momentum is accelerating", said Rom Farrell, vice-president of Nokia 
Middle East.
Now Nokia (and Microsoft) are betting on the Chinese market with 
language support and lower-end, budget devices, but Arabic support will 
also arrive soon and Nokia will be ready to commit.
