Despite all of the problems facing BlackBerry these days, the company
remains in business and life goes on for the Canadian manufacturer.
Over in the U.K., the phone that once made BlackBerry CEO Thorsten Heins
excited earlier in the year has launched. The BlackBerry Z30 is the the
first model from the manufacturer to offer a 5 inch display. The
resolution on the Super AMOLED screen is 768 x 1280 and the phone is
powered by a dual-core 1.7GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro Plus GPU with
the Adreno 320 GPU. 2GB of RAM is onboard and the phone has 16GB of
native storage inside. A 64GB capacity microSD slot is available and the
8MP camera on back has an aperture of f/2.2 which should allow for
clear photos in low-light conditions. A 2880mAh cell keeps the lights on
and BlackBerry 10.2 is pre-installed.
Selfridges in the U.K. is offering the phone for £529.00 ($848 USD) and since the phone has yet to be introduced in the U.S., you can have it shipped to the states if you desire one. The phone is shipped SIM free. Or, you could decide to wait to see if the model comes to the U.S. Back in June, Sprint confirmed that it would be carrying the unit after a November release. But now, Sprint isn't even sure that it wants to carry any BlackBerry inventory in its stores.
